Sauer Brands Is Now Duke’s Mayo Company, Reflecting Strategic Focus and Accelerating Growth
Duke’s Mayonnaise Anchors a Pure-Play Condiments Business, Poised for Double-Digit Growth
RICHMOND, Va., October 26, 2026 — Sauer Brands, Inc. (“the Company”), a leading food company known for distinctive flavor brands including Duke’s Mayonnaise and Mateo’s Gourmet Salsa, announced that, effective today, it is now known as Duke’s Mayo Company. The new name underscores the Company’s strategic focus on the condiments category, led by Duke’s Mayonnaise, and the accelerating growth of its chef-trusted portfolio, which the Company believes has significant whitespace ahead.
The identity update comes after the recent divestiture of its spice business. This resulted in a focused, pure-play condiments business with a simplified operating footprint, comprised of its fast-growing Duke’s Mayonnaise and Mateo’s Gourmet Salsa brands, along with a leading foodservice business.
Aligning the corporate name with Duke’s Mayonnaise gives the Company an identity rooted in its most well-known and celebrated brand. As the Company’s presence expands into more regions, retailers, restaurants and households, a single name tied to its signature brand gives audiences a clear way to understand who the Company is and what it stands for.
“Duke’s Mayo Company is a name that says plainly what this company is about, which is a dedication to flavor and scaling high-growth condiments,” said E. Yuri Hermida, Chief Executive Officer of Duke’s Mayo Company. “Chefs, operators and families choose our brands for their exceptional taste and high-quality ingredients. Leading with Duke’s gives us a name that carries that reputation into every conversation, across every brand we make and every kitchen we serve.”
The Company’s portfolio is accelerating toward double-digit growth, outpacing broader packaged food trends. Duke’s Mayonnaise and Mateo’s Gourmet Salsa each hold leading Net Promoter Scores in their categories, a testament to consumer loyalty. With strong regional footholds as a foundation, both brands are expanding their national presence, brand awareness and household penetration, still low relative to the size of their categories and highlighting the untapped potential that remains.
“Our customers have welcomed our brands into their kitchens for generations,” said Hermida. “What changes is that our name now better reflects who we are: a flavor company, led by a brand that has earned its reputation, one jar at a time. The new name signals a focused strategy, an established portfolio and significant room to grow, all built on flavors consumers already love.”

We’re now a focused condiments company, and we wanted a name that says so. Following the recent sale of our spice and seasoning business, our attention is on the brands and products you know best, including Duke’s Mayonnaise, Mateo’s Gourmet Salsa and our foodservice offerings. Duke’s Mayo Company is the trade name of Sauer Brands, Inc. Our purpose is the same as ever: we bring flavor to people’s lives every day, in every home, and in every kitchen.
Duke’s is our largest and most recognized brand, and it reflects the standard we hold every product to: taste first, quality ingredients, no shortcuts. Duke’s Mayonnaise is a fan favorite known for passionate loyalty, and we’re proud to put it at the center of who we are. The name leads with Duke’s but is built for everything we make. Mateo’s Gourmet Salsa and our foodservice products keep their own names and share the same flavor-first approach.
No. Our leadership team is the same, and our legal company name, Sauer Brands, Inc., is unchanged. Duke’s Mayo Company is a trade name, so this does not affect our contracts, products or partnerships.
No. Duke’s Mayonnaise is our flagship, but we also make Mateo’s Gourmet Salsa and several other condiment brands and products that serve the retail and foodservice channels. Our brands continue to be sold under their existing names, and our recipes are unchanged.
Our headquarters remains in Richmond, Virginia, where our roots run deep. We also continue to maintain offices, plants and warehouses in South Carolina and Kansas.
The sale was part of our broader strategy to build a more focused condiments business, better positioned to accelerate growth and expand margins. A simpler portfolio lets the Company concentrate its investment and attention on growing Duke’s Mayonnaise and Mateo’s Gourmet Salsa nationally, along with its foodservice business.
